One - on- One Mentorship

 

In addition the monthly group sessions, program participants will be paired with an experienced black senior level nonprofit executive who will act as a mentor over the course of the eight (8) month program. Mentors will have a minimum of three years of executive level leadership in the nonprofit sector. 

 The mentor may help the mentee set goals, explore career opportunities, identify resources and develop contacts in the community

Mentor / mentees will be expected to: 

  • Develop mutual trust

  • Respect and value each other as a individuals

  • Maintain confidentiality

  • Listen and pursue authentic conversations (what is said and how it is said)

  • Help the mentee solve her/his own problem, not give direction

  • Focus on the mentee’s development and not seek to produce a duplicate of mentor
